“To Donald Trump, you’re expendable. You’re forgettable. You’re virtually nobody. That’s how he sees seniors. That’s how he sees you,” Democrat candidate Joe Biden told older voters.
Speaking in the battleground state of Florida on Tuesday, Biden highlighted how Trump’s approach towards the coronavirus exposed his views on the older generation. Trump visited Florida at the start of the week, despite being diagnosed with the virus.
“The longer Donald Trump is president, the more reckless he seems to get. Thank God we only have three weeks left to go.”
Biden’s audience was made up of 50 people who were all socially distanced in Broward County in South Florida.
According to an opinion poll by an Opinium Research and Guardian showed that Biden’s advantage rose to 17 points, with 57% of the voters being likely to vote for the Democrat whilst 40% will vote for Trump.
The U.S. election is set to take place on the 3rd of November, but early voting has started already, with 11.8 million people casting their votes. This was confirmed by the Elections Project at the University of Florida.
During his visit to Johnstown, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, Trump said, “So I ask you to do me a favour. Suburban women: Will you please like me? Please. Please. I saved your damn neighbourhood, OK? The other thing: I don’t have that much time to be that nice. You know, I can do it, but I gotta go quickly.”
The president underplayed the effects of the coronavirus once again, telling people, “I went through it now. They say I’m immune. I feel so powerful. I will kiss everyone in that audience, I will kiss the guys and the beautiful women, I will give you a big fat kiss.”
